International conference Frontiers in Comparative Metrics 2
April 19-20, 2014, Tallinn, Estonia
The Frontiers in Comparative Metrics conference will be held on 19th –20th of April 2014, in Tallinn. The organizers of the conference are the Chair of the Classical Philology at the University of Tartu and the Department of the Cultural Theory at the Tallinn University. The language of the conference will be English.
We invite proposals for papers on the following themes:
· Theory of versification and comparative metrics
· Methods of verse analysis
· Frontiers in Indo-European and Fenno-Ugric metrics
· Non-European poetic systems
· Poetics of written and oral texts
· Semantics of metre
· Verse structure in translation
Other proposals for papers that are related to the themes of the conference are also welcome.
The estimated time for the speech is 30 minutes (20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion).
