Valimistulemused eriti suuri üllatusi ei pakkunud ning võiks isegi öelda, et kunagi varem pole Riigikogu koosseis olnud nõnda täpselt ette prognoositav. Mõni kommentaator on üllatunud niivõrd hea sotsiaaldemokraatide tulemuse üle, kuid minu meelest on see täiesti selge: +9 mandaati jagunevad kuueks Rahvaliidu mandaadiks ja kolmeks Keskerakonna mandaadiks. Kui võtta arvesse seda, et pooled uued sotsid on endised (ja üsna hiljutised) rahvaliitlased, samas kui arvuliselt mitte nii suur, kuid kaalult väga oluline osa on tulnud Keskerakonnast, k.a erakonna esimees, on see kõik seaduspärane. Roheliste mandaadid läksid jagamisele Reformierakonna ja IRL-i vahel. Rohelistest on natuke kahju, kuid nende põrumine oli kahjuks prognoositav.
Ma olen nõus nende kommentaaridega, et uus Riigikogu tuleb igavam, kuid võib-olla ei olegi lõbusus selle organi kõige tähtsam omadus.
