Jumalaema kiriku hävimine Pariisis on iseenesest on sümbolväärtusega, mis on tõlgendatav hoiatusena saduseride ja variseride tagasitulekust ning Uue Testamendi väärtuste devalveerimisest ning nende asendamisele nende väärtustega, mille eest UT on hoiatanud. Peale selle veel Jumala karistusena lollkonnale tema pattude eest, kes selle asemel, et parandada meelt ja kahetseda pattu, astub Saatanaga vahekorda, massprodutseerib toanurgas uusi lolle, hävitab planeedi looduslikku tasakaalu ning lõpuks, olles inimesena läbikukkunud, maandub ekretiiniks.
